Dodos Hockey Shoots it Out!

Sunday June 5, 2011

The Dodos got off to a good start, winning the opening faceoff and putting a shot on goal within the first thirty seconds, and just four minutes into the game, Chuck Flinn skated into The Other Team's zone and had the goalie out of position when he fell to the ice and the puck went loose. Luckily, forward Matt Marsh was there to push the puck into the net for the game's first goal, and Marsh's third of the season.

With a 1-0 lead in the second period, A.J. Tarpley took a pass from Flinn and sent a slapshot by the goalie for his first goal of the season and adding to the lead, 2-0. But, The Other Team responded with two unanswered goals, including a power play goal after Caleb McEvers was called for a tripping penalty.

Neither team could score in the final period, forcing the game to go into shootouts and Brian Silvey scored on the Dodos' first attempt. Silvey's goal was the only one needed, as Juan the goalie turned away all five shots he faced, giving the Dodos (2-6-1) their second victory of the season.

Fantasy Performances of the Day:
Marsh 1G (3); Tarpley 1G (1); Flinn 2A (3); Juan 20 Saves
