Last year on Father's Day, Dodos Baseball was scheduled to play a team which forfeited, leaving the newly acquired wood bats dormant until last Sunday. The Dodos broke four bats on their way to a 23-hit, 24-10 victory.
Taking the hill for the Dodos was Troy Warn Sr. (1-0). Senior would throw a six-inning complete game in his starting debut for the team. He scattered 10 hits, five earned runs, four strikeouts over six innings, while allowing no walks, but hitting three batters en route to the win.

Trailing 5-1 in the third, the Dodos came alive after Andy Gerber reached base on an error. Three singles, two walks, a hit batter and a bases-clearing double by Dustin Burke gave the Dodos an 8-5 lead.
The Dodos would score eight more runs in the fourth inning to take a commanding 16-6 lead. Shane Shoemaker lead off the inning with a triple and Jeff Hewitt cleared the bases with a triple of his own to cap the inning's highlights.
Another eight run inning in the sixth featured nine hits, including a two-run inside-the-park homerun from Burke, giving the Dodos (10-2-1) and Senior a 24-10 lead. Senior would strike out two batters in the sixth, including the final batter to seal the victory.
Dodos baseball will not see action until July 12, 2011 due to the PCBL All-Star Game and the Fourth of July holiday. The Cubs (0-13) will host the Dodos at Sylmar High.
